Hey guys want to introduce you to eventON version 2.3!

What is new

The biggest addition in this version is our newest layout design – the tile calendar layout. Which we have been working on perfecting to be laid out seamlessly with our existing event styles. Lot of you have been asking us for something like time.ly but I hate the cluttered look. And I am super excited to tell you this new grid layout is as elegant as the rest of our eventON calendar and it follows out minimal design concepts. The amazingly clean look of the tile design makes it even more appealing to your visitors.

Here are some screenshots of the new tile calendar layout.

This is the layout with featured images enabled.

You can have upto 5 tiles in a row and can be customized via shortcode. The tiles are also mobile optimized. On mobile they will change to one tile in a row.

Another awesome inclusion in this update is go to today button that appear to bring the calendar back to current month when switch to different months.

We also added the support for organizer image for events.

Please enjoy our new inclusions to eventON. You can review all the rest of the changes from our changelog link below. As we speak the update is in process with codecanyon and should be available from our update server via autoupdates right now.

What’s new?

This time around there arent a whole lot new stuff for eventon. Lot more focus on fixing and updating minor issues. For some of you this may come as a much desired update since it solves your issues.

WPML Compatibility: you can now make the calendar lang work in sync with WPML local language and will write a more descriptive documentation on how to set that up later today.

Event Subtitles: Some of you wanted this, and you can now set up subtitles for events.

Categories on EventTop: you can now select 2 default categories plus 3 additional category tags to be displayed on event top of the calendar.

Event Location Image: Added the event location image field, to use this you have to go to myeventon> settings> eventCard and rearrange the location image field. This addition I am hoping to further utilize in upcoming updates with event location profile page.

Organizer Field: Event Organizer data is now just like event location, will be stored for re-use on new or other events.

Year around events: You can now create events for a whole year without specifying a date or a month. Just that the start date (which can be anything thing) will be used to determine the year to show the event on.

Shortcode Generator on ESE: This was a very badly missing part from widgets, so now its there, the shortcode generator button right off ESE widget.

Rest of the update information can be found at changelog.

Hi guys wanted to let you know of the big news of the day — eventON 2.2.10 is out now. I know lot of you have been waiting for this update and sorry for taking a long time to get it out there. Its available on autoupdate right now and in approval process for codecanyon.

What’s new?

There are a lot of fixes and additions to eventON this time around. Couple of major improvements are:

EventCard time format for events can now be customized to whatever you desire.

Month name in 3 letters is a default field now and if an event goes for more than one month the end date will have month name of next month under the date now.

You can also add custom meta fields into eventTop now. (above image: show times)

Add to calendar buttons got a little face lift and I have added a new add to google calendar button – which will add your events into google calendar in a new window.

Sort options section also got a new face lift. I had couple of people mention the way it was built before was not consistent and I have made new changes to match the sort and filtering section more in the lines of rest of the calendar.

Other new features added:

Accordion like feature for events list to close open events when you click new events

wp-admin events page now can order events by event location column

Ability to allow open in new window for custom meta field buttons

One letter month names for month jumper have been added to languages for translation

You can now load calendars sorted by either date or title on load

Featured events only calendars are now allowed

Hey guys, as promised to some of you on the codecanyon and google forum I have an update to eventON ready to go today. Just like last times, this update is still awaiting approval from codecanyon but its available right away via auto update.

First of all I want to apologize on the slow load times you are experiencing on eventON last version due to our dynamic styles that relied on admin_ajax.php wordpress file. I have stepped away from this and we are now using WP_Filesystem() to create a tangible CSS file with dynamic styles that is compressed and is loaded right on page load without using any AJAX calls.

Important notice:

When you update to new eventON you will need to go to myEventon> Appearance and click save to generate that dynamic styles file. If you dont do this your calendar will look like something else.

What’s new

Ok now to exciting part, this update primarily focus on fixing minor issues we had with eventON. 3rd custom meta field for events is now working fine. You can also set custom meta fields to be WYSIWYG fields or single line text. This should give you a little more versatility as far as what data can be saved into custom meta fields.

On Other News

Along with this I am also releasing updates to FullCal, DailyView, and Single Events. So please be sure to update those addons from my account. I am working on an update to ActionUser at the moment and hoping to have it available for you later this week.

I am also working on re-launching a re-constructed geoMaps possibly in next month along with this, I am also planning to release 2 new addons. I greatly appreciate your patience with this update and your continued interest in eventON.

Wanted to write a quick note about whats planning and going to happen during December and heading to a new year for eventON.

First off December 20th is 2 year Anniversary for eventON woo hoo! and I want to thank you all for your support for eventON for the past 2 years for making eventON what it is right now.

I took down geocal addon, because I wanted to further refine its functionality and add a complete google map based events addon, which is coming soon. I also apologize for the minor issues we had following eventON 2.2 and I have been on top fixing those for you guys.

For the coming months I also want to centralize communications for eventON and make it a better experience for you. As of now, priority support forum gets highest attention then google forum and codecanyon message board in that order.

Another addon I want to release for next year is our comprehensive events list addon, so keep an eye out for that.

Until next time, have a great holiday season!

Woo hoo after several nights of lines and lines of endless coding we are happy to present the eventON 2.2 update. This update is a major one as we have done several improvements and additions. Definitely moving eventON forward with the look, functionality and usability.

What all is new with 2.2?

New Shortcode Generator pop-in Box

When we first added the popup shortcode buttons we wanted to make adding shortcode based calendar easiler. But it was little confusing for some people are not many knew what type of variable values would go in the shortcode off the bat. This time we took the initiative in creating something that you have never seen on wordpress plugins, a shortcode generator that is interactive, provide a guided text to each shortcode variable field along with sample values.

Just like before you can now add as many shortcode based calendars you want with a better knowledge of what you want to add.

Collapse event edit meta boxes

You can now very easily collapse data meta boxes on event edit page – it saves space and easy on the eye. Once you close the boxes it will be closed next time you load the page.

Re-arrange EventCard fields

You can now rearrange eventCard data fields to give your calendar a custom look with higher priority data rows visible above others.

Minor UI update to eventCard

EventON eventCard and its simplistic minimal design is one of our strong points. We took another step forward on this by making some fine changes to eventCard along with few new data rows. We decided to put event time and location in the same line to provide vital information for an event in one spot for the visitor – this also save space for more information down the eventCard. We hope you will like this along with the ability to rearrange eventCard data rows.

Featured Image for event on the eventTop

You can now add event’s feature image to be shown on eventTop line along with other data. This will make eventON calendar more colorful and attractive to visitors at first glance.

ICS download and get directions

You can now add ICS file download (for importing event to google cal or iCal) button to eventCard. Also added new is get directions from event location field which will allow user to enter where to get directions and will open up google maps in a new window with directions pulled up.

Dual Languages

EventON us a globally used wordpress plugin and we respect the needs of our international users who use different languages other than english. We have introduced a new dual language set up build within eventON so you can now show eventON calendar in which ever language you want.

New Priority Support

We have created a new paid priority support on top of our google eventON free group to allow eventON users to receive support faster for their installation of eventON.

Other killer additions

New License activation server: we made our new license activation server go live earlier this week. Now you will be able to activate eventON license without relying heavily on envato API (like before)

Reverse Order capability has been added and now you can easily reverse the order in which events are shown.

Feature Events: you can now feature events and have those featured events move above other events.

Event Feature Image expanding feature has been fixed to expand the featured image to its full proportional height.

If you don’t have it already go grab eventON WordPress event Calendar from Codecanyon.

What’s New

Flat cleaner UI for buttons

Updates to widget UI – more interactivity

The eventON widget now also support the ability to set fixed month and years on it. The UI is now minimal and the fields and blended into the whole widget space.

Other Updates

hide_past=’yes’ is now supported as a new shortcode variable, which will hide the past event of a calendar without having to set this as global calendar setting.

EventON and WordPress 3.6

EventON is tested and compatible with the new version of WordPress 3.6. If you are having any issues chances those issues are caused by other plugins or the theme you are using which may not be compatible with the WordPress 3.6. Sometimes turning on eventON will show these errors and will stop your site from working — which doesn’t always mean the issue is with eventON.

If you are having issues with EventON and WordPress 3.6 here is your check guide: What to check first if you think eventON breaks your site.

This is a simple guide on how to diagnose EventON for issues caused by javascripts or conflict with other plugins.

Do you experience any of these?

Turning on eventON stops my *** slider from working…

EventON stops my dropdown menus from working…

Nothing happen when I click eventON event boxes…

Months dont change when I click arrows on eventON…

If you are seeing any of the things above, try this.

Step 1:

Open up chrome or firefox (preferably chrome) press F12 key and that will open up a small code box in the bottom of your website.

Step 2:

(in Chrome) Look for the bottom right corner for red circle with a while X on it and a number next to it. Something like this…

Step 3:

Click on this red circle. If you see red circle with a number next to it — this means your website have javascript errors on the page.

NOTE: Javascript errors caused by other plugins or themes can cause eventON’s javascript to run properly.

Step 4:

Now look at the lines of errors. To the right are the file name that hold this error and the line number. If you have the skills, open those files and fix those issues.

If these errors are caused by other plugins or simple by javascript codes in your theme itself, please contact those plugin/theme developer.

NOTE: Sometimes the javascript errors can be as simple as removing a simple code that is not defined properly.
