We very much appreciate your patience during our development work for EventON 4.1. Kindly find the improvements and enhancements we have made to eventON in the 4.1 version below.

EventTop Designer

One of the biggest additions to eventON 4.1 is the eventtop designer just as the eventcard designer.

Single Event Page only for logged-in Users

We also added the ability to enable via settings to allow access to Single event page only to logged-in users.

Hourly Repeat Mode

EventON now support hourly event repeats. We added this, especially for those events that occur at a quick turnaround time.

Link to Single Event from Anywhere on Your Site

Using shortcode [eventon_anywhere id=” repeat_interval=”] with event ID and repeat instance ID you can add a link anywhere in your website that will load the event details. This can be set to open as lightbox or redirect to single event page.

Show Repeat Event Instance Relative to all Repeats

Enabling this will help your repeating events show which of the repeats the current event is, on the repeat header.

Webhook Support – More to come

We are including the framework for webhook support for EventON in the 4.1 version. This will be able to hook into various other platforms like zapier, IFTTT, Integromat, Automate.io, Built.io, Workato, elactic.io, APTANT, and Webhook.

We are going to be adding more trigger points in the coming updates via eventON addons. Example would be, when someone RSVP to an event, set up a webhook to be triggered that will send out new RSVP data to that webhook. Then via 3rd party platform you can use that data to do whatever additional auto tasks that is supported like create a new Profile etc.

Possibilities are endless and I am excited to have this framework built into EventON 4.1 and look forward to adding various trigger point supports.

Apart from this we have added various other known issue fixes in the new version as well. Kindly refer to the complete changelog for more information.

Couple of days ago we released EventON 2.6.9 which was a minor update with several bugs addressed. And was more of a foundation update for new tickets addons suite. Find our more about eventON changelog.

Updating to EventON 2.6.9

Please refer to how to update eventon, on how to update eventON main plugin to latest version. We always, always recommend you guys backup phpmyadmin Database before updating. If you are updating manually from a version older than 2.6.8, please read updating to EventON 2.6.7

If you are on version 2.6.8, and doing manual update with deleting old version, the settings “Do not delete eventon settings & data when EventON is uninstalled” is working correct and can be used safety. However before any updates, we highly recommend backing up phpmyadmin Database.

Tickets Suite

Now the big news of the day, the biggest update to our addons, to this date. This addon include Tickets, Bookings, QR Code and Seats. Great code improvements for speed in eventON – was a major purpose with this update, while also allowing for extension of the features.

Some of The Big Features

I have added so many new features to all the ticket suite addons. Let me highlight some of the cool things I liked.

Tickets Addon:

Fast attendee filtering

View attendees section load data using JSON data and filtering the attendee list is super fast now.

Attendees Tickets

I’ve created a separate object now to handle attendee tickets. So now partial order refunds can refund partial tickets from an order.

New Look

Ticket information display on eventCard and event ticket order item meta data display layouts have been updated to look cooler than before.

Bookings:

Fast Calendar Layout

I’ve created a custom javascript based calendar that shows available booking dates for selection, which shows available booking slots on that date. And this calendar works soo fast.

Seats:

Unassigned seating

When I first created seats addon, I wanted to add the unassigned seating but was running out of time and wanted to get seats addon out. So now we have unassigned seating!

New Seat Editor

The old seat editor for admin, had some restrictions when dealing with large data, so I’ve basically remade the whole editor to be able to handle large amounts of seat data and it very intuitive with a very small learning curve.

Zoom and panning

I’ve added seat map zooming and panning capabilities, which also works great on mobile. Which will help lot of our customers with converting those mobile users into sales.

QR Code:

Scanner Gun

While back one of our customers was trying to figure out how to use a scanner gun with qr code gun. And now we officially have the compatibility to use QR code scanner guns to check in guests.

Updating to New Tickets Addons

We have done a lot of tests on the new ticket suite, myself and my colleagues. Just to be 100% sure you won’t lose your event data, once again I highly recommend you guys backup database. If your web host allows, create a restore point.

Once backedup, follow the guide on how to update addons.

I have another cool surprise for you guys coming soon!

As I have promised some of you, we have released the new eventon 2.5.5 version update earlier this week. Lot of bugs have been address in this version you can check the complete log here.

Updates Day

Today literary was an updates day. We have released updates to big 3 addons: ActionUser, RSVP and Tickets. Updates were also released for dailyview, ics importer and csv importer. We have promised the updates to big 3 addons to several customers. And we have also been updating customer sites who had issues with beta versions of those addons. Now they are finalized and released for rest of the eventON gang.

Once again addon updates address bug fixes, updates and minor additions. Nothing of drastic additions. But lay foundation for future cool stuff.

With ICS importer we implemented for the first time exporting from external source on automatic schedule using CRON jobs, which is exciting.

Since v2.5.5

We have already realized a small bug with new version that will only effect dailyView users. Which can be fixed with this patch.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/40bjygxt5y6vc9k/class-calendar_generator.php?dl=0

replace this file to …/eventon/includes/ folder

We recently released eventON 2.4.7 version update fixing bunch of bugs we had encountered from our customers.

One of the biggest differences is that we have changed the way location and organizer taxonomy meta data is saved. We have now switching to one wordpress option as oppose to creating individual option for each taxonomy. Once you update to new version your existing location and organizer taxonomy data should automatically convert into to new system during the update process.

So this change effects several addons, and we have already released an updates to those effected addons. Below are the addons effected by the change to location and oragnizer taxonomies: CSV Impoter, ICS Impoter, Tickets, & Lists & Items addon. So make sure you grab those latest versions from myeventon.com/my-account

You can check the entire eventON changelog here.

As you may already know we have released EventON 2.3.21 last week. There wasnt any major additions it was mostly fixed past bugs with the plugin. However this new update made some changes necessary for us to release the new ActionUser and RSVP addon.

ActionUser addon

We did some great improvements for actionUser and lot of old bugs resolved. ActionUser can now support fields for RSVP and ticket addons and we are hoping to improve on this in the future with the pluggable hooks that are now in place.

complete ActionUser changelog

RSVP Addon

Lots of past bugs have been fixed in RSVP addon. Now the RSVP form can support upto 5 additional custom fields. You can hook into this using below code to increase this to even more custom fields. And all these fields are compatible all across the entire addon including CSV download.

add_filter('evors_field_count','fieldcount',10,1);
function fieldcount($count){
// type in the number of total fields you want instead
	return 7;
}

Another cool feature is now you can get a direct URL to an eventpage (created using single events addon) that have name parameters and those will prefill the RSVP form auto matically.

Eg. https://www.coolsite.com/event/cool-event/?nm=Jason&nml=Bourne&em=jason@msn.com

We have also added EventTop tags for when the event is closed or there are no spaces left. This can be turned off from RSVP settings > EventTop Data for RSVP.

Rest of the update is lot of bug fixes really ironing out the errors to make RSVP addon a better experience for you guys.

Following our update to fullCal I am also releasing an update to subscriber that was in the work at the same time. This update adds several new items and the most important one is the connection with mailchimp that was requested by handful.

You can now enter mailchimp API information and access all the available email lists, to which you can directly add subscribers at the same time they get added into the website subscriber section as well.

We also updated the auto emails, so they look little nicer and are using the standard eventon email layout styles.

You can also now drop a subscribe button anywhere in your site with the shortcode [evo_subscribe_btn]

Releasing a minor update to eventon FullCal today. The new version update will address below items. Most important addition would be the 50-50 month grid and the side by side. The 50-50 display was something that was requested by several users and Mike has been providing them with a custom CSS patch. One thing to remember is this visual style can only be used when you have the grid interaction set to default method.

But now you will be able to achieve that using shortcode easily using the new shortcode parameter below.

[add_eventon_fc nexttogrid="yes"]

Among other updates include, several minor fixes. Multiple events and multiple event names showing with lightbox grid interaction was something that was addressed in this update.

Complete changelog can found here.

This is kind of a late news blog post but better late than never. 2015 was a great year for eventON not only the growth of its customer-hood but also addon library and features for eventON.

We stand here today and looking back we have done our best to satisfy lot of requests from our customers. At times we are glad we do get requests for cool features for eventON so we don’t have to go hunting for these ideas.

As we move forward we are going to concentrate on improving our customer support system. We would rather spend our time developing amazing features and making eventON better than spending all day on support. But support is something that can not be neglected. However we are planning to spend time on improving our system for support process and to find ways we can create self guided support for simpler issues.

With that being said I want to point out our improved troubleshooter guide:

https://www.myeventon.com/documentation/check-eventon-working/

This is your handy-man for eventON!

We want to improve this in coming year. 2016 we want to focus a lot of our time in improving a better effective support system where we would have to spend minimal amount of time on it and focus our valuable time on improving the product — which is the key for moving eventON forward.

The numbers of 2015

We continue to sell eventON (our main plugin) on codecanyon market place and in 2015 we saw a 29.8% growth in our customer base compared to the year before. We will continue to move forward with our main plugin selling on codecanyon.

Years ahead

For this year and the coming years we are planning to issue several major updates to our existing addons and improving their functionality and eliminating existing bugs. Be ready for more new features showing up in your eventON addons.

We are also hoping to work on several new addons that would really help our customers in their requests. Mike has already started working on a slider addon for eventON.

EventON Team

EventON is a small team of guys – which you probably know if you have been on our support forum. Mike and Kris have been amazing at helping eventON customers everyday. We are hoping to expand our team. You will see our new recruit Josh popping up on forum from time to time.

We at eventON hope you guys will continue to enjoy the ride ahead with us on the eventON-express for the year of 2016 and forward!
