Big Design Changes – On wp-admin side

In 4.6, we made several design and user experience updates that you will find exciting and will ease the way you interact with your EventON calendar backend experience.

On the wp-admin side, we have made some significant design changes. We have updated the EventON button styles, font size, and spacing to be more minimalistic, keeping up with current design trends.

Lightbox Updated

We have optimized the lightbox fields to fit multiple fields in same line to contain the content with less scrolling. Selected lightboxes are now scrollable within the lightbox window. Ligthbox windows are also wider now, giving you more space to see settings.

EventCard Designer on Lightbox

In 4.6 we moved the eventcard designer to a lightbox window so you now have plenty of space to play around with eventcard design, distraction-free.

EventON Block

We have updated eventON block design to be more streamline. Block control settings will now show a real-time updated shortcode parameters in a clean layout.

Shortcode Generator

EventON shortcode generator is now in a wider window with field labels and fields spaced on both sides. Bottom buttons have also been updated to a minimal look with optional current shortcode visibility. The main calendar shortcode now support a search bar to look through and quickly find settings fields. We are hoping to improve on this and make this search available for all the shortcode calendar types in the future.

Multiple Location Images & Related Locations

You can now add multiple location images, which will show as a cool mini gallery on the eventcard. You can also add related locations for each location. Locations now support social media, phone number, and email.

Related Organizers

Organizer edit lightbox also has several changes. Related organizers are supported here just as in locations.

Front-end Enhancements

Search bar & Filter bar

We updated the search bar design and filter bar design. Filter bar can now be scrolled horizontally for more filter options – creating a sleek minimal look.

Location Image and Get Directions

Location image with multiple images, now shows as a mini gallery on eventcard. Location details and names are displayed in a minimal clean design over the location image. We have also updated the get directions layout and design elements.

Event Images Gallery

Unlimited event images will now show as a cool gallery on eventcard. Clicking on the main event image will bring a full window lightbox view of that image.

Our Event Photos addon v2.0 will allow you to further enhance this image gallery with continuous image navigation, image captions and much more.

Repeat Events Series

We have also improved the look and feel of repeat events series on eventcard. You can now set to have these repeats open as a lightbox. Repeat events are now using our new sleek horizontal content slider.

Organizer Lightbox Update

We have updated the organizer details lightbox with a new layout that capture organizer image and details along with their events in an easier to see layout.

New Location Lightbox

We are now adding support for location lightbox, similar to organizer details lightbox. In here all the location details with location image gallery and events at the location, all can be found easily from one location.

Preload Animations

4.6 brings a new styles of preloading content animations to EventON. You can find those when loading calendar or lightboxes. Even loading the google maps now has a cool preload animation

Code and Functionality

In 4.6 we worked a lot to improve EventON javascript library. We also started adding and using more of the standard eventon class-based CSS styles, which should help cut down on CSS lines. In 4.6, we are continuing to add onto eventON elements library and to use them all across eventON calendar on back and front-end, for unified look and feel and to help cut down on codes to create UI elements each time.

In the plans

In the coming months, we are planning to release several addons that further enhance EventON experience. Here are some of those amazing extensions cooking in the oven.

EventON Filter plus – Expansion for eventON calendar filter, that allows a more comprehensive filtering of event, such as Events by time of the date etc.

EventON Indexing – An addon that allows you to index all your eventON events, so eventON calendars can be loaded faster using the index instead of the heavy taxing WP_Query function.

We also included these fields support for actionUser front-end event submission form. These fields will also be supported with actionUser Plus for paid event submission form fields.

Virtual Events Improvements

We have added several improvements for virtual events for eventON in version 3.0. With current global situation, virtually hosted events helps immensely for eventON business owners to still maintain online business and generate income through virtual events. We hope the improvements in 3.0 will help strengthen and build confidence in business owners and their customers to virtual events as the new method of organizing and attending events from the comfort of their homes.

Live Progress Bar

Live progress bar and time left along with local user event time using “View in my time” button are some of the amazing additions.

Happening Now

We also added a real-time happening now events calendar view to 3.0. This will provide a real-time live view to online event attendees of what is taking place at the moment and what is coming up on a busy online events day that is filled with several back to back events.

RSVP & Tickets Compatibility

With latest version of RSVP and tickets addon you can now select how the virtual event information should be displayed.

RSVP v 2.6.10 with Virtual Events Compatibility

This version of RSVP addon support virtual events, so that a customer will only see the virtual event information only after they have RSVP-ed to the event. The virtual event access information is also emailed to customer in their confirmation email.

Tickets v 1.8 with Virtual Events Compatibility & Other Additions

Similar to RSVP addon ticket addon can also email virtual event access information in the confirmation email once the customers order is processed.

Name Your Price with Tickets

The other cool thing we added to tickets addon is the name your price feature.

Name your price is pretty cool – you can also set a minimum price, so customers can make payments above that low value. This is very useful for collecting donations for things like yoga classes or charitable events. Currently this does not support in variable ticket products.

Apart from that we made overall design layout upgrades to make your eventON calendar events look top notch and stand up to catch the eye of your stylish visitors.

Booking v 1.2 New Styles

We did some major improvements to booking addon. From the get go the booking slots on frontend can now be set as calendar view or as time slots view.

New Auto Generate Blocks Feature

We’ve listen to you and we have added an easy auto generator that will create time slots with just one click – between start and end time and you can set how long each time slot is and price for each.

Backend Booking Block Manager has also changed in design with this new version. You can easily see the time slots and how many spots left and how much each cost and how many attendees have reserve each time slot – super quick glance.

Gutenberg Improvements

With EventON 2.8.10 the event post is now supporting gutenberg block type editing. All event categories, colors, feature image and extra images are now on (inspector control) on right side. You still have to go to eventON settings > EventCard Data to enable and arrange the order of how each event data boxes are shown on frontend. We are hoping to eventually move that into Gutenberg as well.

EventON Gutenberg block on pages and posts has been improved now to work seamlessly with gutenberg blocks.

You can easily add eventON block to anywhere you want and use our amazing shortcode generator to create whatever calendar you want for that block.

Shortcode Generator Improvements

EventON Shortcode generator also has been improved. With EventON Gutenberg block – if you click on shortcode generator after a shortcode is created, the shortcode generator can now open with all the shortcode values already selected.

We also added collapsable sections inside the shortcode generator to make things neatly organized and easy to find as we keep adding on more options driven by shortcodes variables for calendar.

2.8.7

With the 2.8.7 update to eventON we have added a new event status feature to update your customers about the status of your events, when they are cancelled or otherwise. This new feature will also add comprehensive SCHEMA data for search engines to pick up about your events – such as google – so their search results can reflect the correct status of the event to your audiences.

On wp-admin side

First things you will notice in the new update is the Event Status section in event details box. New event statuses have their own more details section. By default the event status is set to scheduled.

EventCard

Each event status will have its own colors and those can be customized by EventON settings > appearance. More information about each status can be added and those will display under the event title in eventTop. We also added support to define if the event location is a offline physical location or a virtual location. For events moved to online can be associated with new virtual location.
