New Features with Jitsi

With jitsi fully integrated to allow live videos to be played direct from the event page, you can now allow direct wait room type feature, directly on the event instead a guest leaving to zoom. Jitsi allows eventON to add wait for moderator. You can assign a moderator when you create an event.

Just like with zoom, jitsi on eventON offer amazing features like, allow viewers to raise hand, enable invite others, switch to fullscreen, share desktop etc. All of these are features that are directly part of jitsi that we are able to control and offer via eventON.

Virtual Plus Addon

Along with eventON 3.1 we also introduced a new Virtual Plus addon which extends the virtual features to even more extensive level and basically ties all the other addons for closer virtual experience.

How to Do Paid Virtual Events

In order to do paid virtual events, you will need tickets addon – which allows users to purchase tickets to events. Once you install tickets addon you can set the option in event edit so that a user will have to purchase a ticket before he can see the virtual event information. This restricting for virtual event access works with all the supported virtual event methods. With Jitsi, instead of virtual event access info, the live video will load direct into the event page.

Pre-event Content with Virtual Plus

Virtual Plus addon adds pre-event content. This can also be conditioned to show only after a user has purchased tickets. Pre-event content is a great place to share slides or PDF files or youtube videos that can be enjoyed by viewer before the event take place.

After Event Content

After event content is supported in main eventON plugin and this can also be conditioned to show only if customer has purchased a ticket. You can set a time to how long since the end of the event to show these info. After event content is a great way to share take home information with viewers.

Virtual Events Bundle for More

Gathering several addons, we made a virtual events bundle and with the addons in here you can create event more smooth virtual event experience.

Countdown Addon – will offer pre-event countdown timer right on virtual event information section and when timer runs out auto refresh with virtual event information.

Reviewer Addon – will offer leave a review button right after the event is completed.

ActionUser Addon – to support front-end event submission and front end event manager for vendors and other parties to manage virtual events.

Event API

Lot of eventON customers were looking for a way to show their calendar on an external website, and we have gotten a lot of requests for this. Event API addon is the perfect solution for this.

With this you can drop a javascript code snippet on any external website – it can be wordpress or just HTML- and will show the eventON calendar with all the styles and interactions. This addon also supports JSON URL to fetch all upcoming event data that can be used to feed other 3rd party software or mobile apps. Overall its a very powerful solution for advanced developer and the day to day average use to show eventON calendar on an outside website without much coding skills.

Slider

Slider addon is one of our cleanly integrated addons that brings a new perspective of events – as a slider view. This addon – mainly controlled and setup via shortcode generator – gives you numerous customization options and layout options.

You can show upcoming events or past events in the slider and set how many events you want to show regardless of month restrictions.  It can also be filtered with event_type category values to show only certain events as slides.

Event Lists & Items

Lists and items addon was something that was missing in our arsenal of addons. With this addon you can list all category items for all 5 event types, locations, and organizers. Once someone click those items it will slide all events for that category type. This is also optional as you can set it not to load events and use this as just for displaying a list of category items.

The item version of the addon is also very useful for displaying for example organizers and you want to drop a box for certain organizer like below.

Once a user click on this item box it will slide all the events organized by Andy the trainer. Its a really neat solution that has so many practical uses.

So these are the 3 latest addons that we have added to eventON in the past 2 months and there are lot of other great ideas passed on to us by our customers and users that we are hoping to implement in the coming months.

With eventON version 2.3.22 update all event locations should have auto generated latitude and longitude. This will be used on the new events map addon to generate map markers. What we have done is google maps geocode string addresses for locations into backend when a new event is added to convert address to LatLng and avoid this taxing conversions from frontend google maps API. We found out this as the primary cause for incorrect map markers in previous map addon versions.

Now using the LatLng already saved for event locations, google maps API should be able to run the markers lot faster and with accuracy than before.

New EventON 2.3.22

Latest eventON include the above mentioned upgrade to event locations. Along that we also included a visual composer (VC) elements block for eventON. However there is a small bug in the code that comes for those not using VC below patch can be used for that.

New ActionUser Update

ActionUser update version 2.0.2 address several fixes and incorporate the new location LatLng values added in the latest eventON version. (Changelog)

Hope you guys will enjoy these new updates and we are going to be continuously making improvements and add several new exciting new addons to eventON library this summer.

ActionUser addon

We did some great improvements for actionUser and lot of old bugs resolved. ActionUser can now support fields for RSVP and ticket addons and we are hoping to improve on this in the future with the pluggable hooks that are now in place.

RSVP Addon

Lots of past bugs have been fixed in RSVP addon. Now the RSVP form can support upto 5 additional custom fields. You can hook into this using below code to increase this to even more custom fields. And all these fields are compatible all across the entire addon including CSV download.

Another cool feature is now you can get a direct URL to an eventpage (created using single events addon) that have name parameters and those will prefill the RSVP form auto matically.

We have also added EventTop tags for when the event is closed or there are no spaces left. This can be turned off from RSVP settings > EventTop Data for RSVP.

Rest of the update is lot of bug fixes really ironing out the errors to make RSVP addon a better experience for you guys.

You can now enter mailchimp API information and access all the available email lists, to which you can directly add subscribers at the same time they get added into the website subscriber section as well.

We also updated the auto emails, so they look little nicer and are using the standard eventon email layout styles.

You can also now drop a subscribe button anywhere in your site with the shortcode [evo_subscribe_btn]

Among other updates include, several minor fixes. Multiple events and multiple event names showing with lightbox grid interaction was something that was addressed in this update.

Big Change

The biggest change made in this version is the new lightbox HTML and styles, if you recall before the lightbox used to come up and you can scroll the page for the entire height of the page. This is now changed and lightbox will make page body adjust to lightbox height so it is fully focused on the web browser.

Other fixes and updates

There are several other fixes to issues we saw from users reporting that we were able to get solved. Some of those are: event type color override, show more events option to work with tile design, Event card not sliding for some because their theme was added <p> around the <a> event elements, repeating events not saving time correctly for end time and mobile map scrolling disable option.

Cal_id update

As for updates we are not using a custom random generated cal ID if you have not set a cal_id in the shortcode. The idea is now you don’t have to worry about putting multiple calenders on the same page and having them work individually. But you can still set cal_id from your shortcode and use this id value to apply styles specific to this calendar.

Monthly repeat update

We made few changes to the way repeats save data and how its interpreted. Now you can set last week of the month value as well. Also fixed issues of first occurrence of this type monthly repeats creating duplicate time as initial event time causing various issues on other repeat interval related items.

RTL Update

RTL styles have also been improved. And now the RTL can be set calendar wide instead of via shortcode and addon styles are also getting updated.

Effects of this update

Couple of addons are effected by this update – because of the new lightbox styles. Which are fullcal, reviewer and RSVP addon. As soon as the codecanyon version is out we will release an update to all those addons.

This is our newest addon for eventON. Lot of you have been asking for this for a long time and I am happy make the announcement today for our Sync addon for eventon. This addon will fetch events from facebook and google calendar and import them to eventON calendar and will allow you to sync those events from facebook after initial import.

This addon relies on API access for both third party events in a secure way. At the moment the addon will pull initial data from events such as time, name, location and link to original event. For facebook events has the capability to pull event image or cover image and use that as featured event image in eventON.

Search

Search addon give your calendar a cool AJAX driven search capability to search through the current months events. Such as awesome feature to have when you have so many events going on for a month.

Countdown

Event countdown timer is another one of the most wanted addons we have been asked to build for eventON. This adds a real-time timer to eventTop that will run until the end of the event and you can set up several options on what to do when the timer expire. I can see so many applications for this addon.

Subscriber addon for eventON comes with so many awesome features. Its an amazing addon with a lightbox popup form for subscribing to event calendars to receive updates when new events are published. This addon is highly customizable as well.

Yesterday I released version 1.0 for EventTickets  addon and I hope you guys enjoyed all the new additions and fixes. Following that earlier today I released version 2.0 for RSVP  addon, which was also a huge face-lift as far as features and fixing minor issues.

I am so excited to introduce you guys two more addon  to our EventON lineup.

QR Code for EventON

This has been one of the addons I really wanted to build out and lot of you guys were really waiting for this one. So here you have it now. You will need either RSVP or Tickets addon for this to work as it will be embedding QR Codes into those two addons. This is such a cool idea that has been around for quite sometime and it was about time we added this to eventON as well. I really hope this addition will make it that much better for those who out there that is using event ticket check-in feature.

Weekly View Addon

Next up is the weekly view addon, again another thing that some of you have been asking for. This addon find a mid point with DailyView and FullCal addon, by showing only a week worth of events at a time while allowing you to navigate between weeks. Hope this will satisfy that need for those who need it.

I am really excited about all the new versions and the new additions to EventON addons and I hope you guys are too. There is lot more exciting stuff that is in the pipeline for EventON and myself and Mike are hoping to work on in the coming months.
